Carmen Hernandez
(nee Arredondo)
Age 88. At rest, Friday, April 17, 2009. Carmen was born in San Francisco del Rincon, Guanajuato, Mexico and was a lifelong resident of Joliet. She retired from St. Joseph Hospital as a darkroom technician for 25 years.
Preceded in death by her husband, Tomas Hernandez; her mother, Caldelaria Hernandez; brothers, Antonio Espinoza and Sebastian Espinoza; son-in-law Santiago Rodriguez; and a grandson-in-law, Medardo Martinez, Jr.
Survived by her children, Virginia (John) Janis, Lydia (Jose) Lopez, Thomas (Joan) Hernandez, Renaldo (Dolores) Hernandez, Delores (late Santiago) Rodriguez, Maria (Salome) Venegas, and Regino (Bonnie) Hernandez; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two sisters, Aurora (Jerry) Bill and Juanita Espinoza; one brother, Johnny Espinoza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Carmen Hernandez will be Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Tuesday 2-8 p.m. at:
