Sam was one of the kindest, smartest men I knew. I have many fond memories of great conversation, good hugs and lots of laughs from our early 20s. Sending love and light to Christi and all our friends who are missing him.

Today would have been our 13th wedding anniversary had made it. Turns out we lived together longer after than when we were married. I found in your phone that you kept our "jimmyversary" on your calendar. There aren't enough words to say about the good times and how thankful I am that we both happened to be at Jimmy's, even though neither of us actually wanted to go out that night.
I miss you Sam. Philly misses you. Wishing things were different. Even missing some of the annoying stuff, like endless movie and TV quotes and references, or asking how I could rewatch the same show over and over but not watch Breaking Bad and you making fun of my singing or taste in music. Elisabeth told me there was a Duran Duran phase for you and you can bet I would have something to say about musical taste now.
Philly and I talk to your ashes and say prayers for you. We wish you peace. We wish you a good day in Heaven everyday just like we told you to have a good day everyday when we left.
We promise to keep your picture on our version of the ofrenda.
Until we meet again ❤️

Thanks for passing your dry sense of humor onto me. No one else ever appreciated my morbid jokes like you did. I'll miss talking about old bands and music interests with you. I appreciate all of your guidance throughout the years and helping me learn from the mistakes you made. I'll be sure to let you know if I hear about any new TV series to get hooked on. Keep it real, Dude.

We were all blessed to have had Sam in our life. Our tight friend group from Hoffman Estates High School were introduced to Sam thru Eric. Eric and Sam went to Northwestern University and were best of friends. Sam fit into our group like a puzzle piece. We all quickly became close friends. Lifelong friends. We all shared countless adventures, high times, and deep respect for one another. Rest easy my friend and much love.

Sam was last over on Superbowl Sunday, which was also our mom's birthday. Before the game, we spent hours reminiscing... way back to when we were little kids. Mom would have loved that. Though I doubt she would loved finding out how I used to pour water on his mattress so that he'd get in trouble for wetting the bed. Or hearing about the time I got pulled over speeding on the Edens and had him crotch my bag of smoke and how he almost gave me up when the officer had him get out of the car. Or... well, some stories will just have to stay between us.
Had I known it would have been the last time I'd see him, I would have made sure to hug him and tell him I loved him. That wasn't our style though. :(
We had our differences as siblings do, but both agreed that Queensryche's "Operation Mindcrime" was the greatest concept album of all time. We spoke and texted almost daily and visited frequently. My dogs and husband adored him. He was my biggest supporter when I quit smoking, despite my never being able to have him join me.
I'm sorry I was never able to appreciate Clutch and I'm sorry that my love of weird movie directors (cough, Gaspar Noe) left you traumatized,.
RIP, baby brother. Please be at peace. Love, your Sis

Sammy was a brother and his death has been very hard on many of us. He had so many great friends that are hurting right now. We had many inside jokes that died with him. Miss you Buddy!
