Obituary of Mary Jane Riffel
Mary Jane Riffel, age 95, of Joliet, passed away February 28, 2023 at Alden Courts of Shorewood.
Born November 16, 1927 in Joliet, she was the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Wilhelmi) Miller. She married the love of her life, Bernard Riffel, and they enjoyed many years of marriage until his passing in 1995.
She is survived by her four loving children, Connie (Paul) Streit of Aurora, Ricky (Cindy) Riffel of Coal City, Cindy (Bob) Gates of Princeton, and Debbie (Ed) Glavan of Joliet; four adoring grandchildren, Richard Riffel, Rick (David) Pulfer, Carrie (John) Kuziel-Francis, and Nichole Pulfer; and two dear great-grandchildren, Samantha and Jacob.
Mary Jane worked in the banking industry for over 55 years for Union National Bank and its successor companies. She enjoyed working with people and customers sought her out for her caring and pleasant personality.
She was also an active and faithful member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church of Plainfield, where she was also involved with CCW and the Senior group.
Mary Jane was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and family was the most important thing in her life.
Private funeral services for Mary Jane were held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and interment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville.
A public memorial mass for Mary Jane will be held Saturday, April 18, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 6, Plainfield, IL 60544.
