Obituary of Geraldine D. Morency
Geraldine D. Morency
(nee Boerst)
Geraldine D. Morency, passed away peacefully at her home in Plainfield, on Friday, March 3, 2023, at the age of 88. Geraldine was born on June 13, 1934, the daughter of the late Charles F. and Anna C. (nee Mittler) Boerst. Born and raised in Chicago, she was a graduate of St. Augustine High School.
Geraldine was a spiritual woman who led by example. She was a former parishioner at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield, IL. Her spiritual calling at a young age was so strong that she considered a life exclusively in the church, but the love she found with Carl demanded that she save room in her heart for both her love of God as well as her eventual husband. She was able to successfully find that balance and honor both relationships for the majority of her days. Her desire to follow the example of Christ led her to volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the surgical outpatient department for fifteen years. The kindness that she showed in those years, and the good that she was able to accomplish is beyond measurement.
Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Michele (Bob) Spence; grandchildren Zachary and Donovan Spence, Matthew Cronin, Jennifer and Brian Morency, Jr. and Craig Kois; great grandchildren, Reilly, Chase, and Blyss; and her sister-in-law, Viola Morency. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She is preceded by her loving husband of 50 years, Carl H. Morency; daughter, Carol Cronin; one son, Brian Morency; her parents; and her siblings, Bernard Boerst, Chuch Boerst, Sue Baber, Don Boerst, Bob Boerst, and Pat Foster.

(at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
