Obituary of Mary Bacon

Mary K. Bacon (nee Prouty) Age 81. Passed away peacefully, Friday, August 22, 2008, in Bella Vista, Arkansas. Born in Joliet, September 10, 1926 to Royce and Elizabeth (nee Verbic) Prouty of Rockdale, she was a longtime Shorewood resident. Mary Kathryn, a secretary for many years at Caterpillar Tractor Company, retired with her loving husband, Don, to their home in Florida. Known to her family and friends as Ket she liked to golf, enjoyed arts, crafts, and painting. She loved to bake and was at her best when entertaining. A voracious reader, Ket was also the family historian. She will best be remembered for her strong will, her love of her family, and the color turquoise . Preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Donovan D. Bacon; parents; one brother, Laurence Prouty; and one sister, Dorothy (Tony) Foth. Survived by her children, Karen (Marc) Liberman of Dallas, TX, Kevin (Robin) Bacon of Rogers, AR and Keith (Connie) Bacon of Bend, OR; four grandchildren, Matthew (Debbie) Fitzgerald of Channahon, Cydney Rae Liberman of Dallas, TX, Ryan (Rachel) Bacon of Bend, OR and Noele (Brandon) Lee of Maui, Hawaii; step-granchildren, Shawna (Josh) Marsala, Jay (Julie) Liberman and Jill (Zane) Belyea; great-grandson, Tyler Fitzgerald; step-great-granchildren, Brandon Crow; Kala, Mason and Ethan Marsala; Dylan and Zachary Belyea; and Sally Liberman; one sister, Delores (James) Eich of St. Elmo, IL; and her cousin, Waunita (Claude) Strickland of Mesa, AZ. Funeral Services for Mary K. Bacon will be Friday, August 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Thursday 5-9 p.m. at: FRED C.
