Obituary of Paul Hert

Paul E. Hert Age 83. Suddenly Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Streator, IL, he was a lifelong Joliet/Plainfield area resident. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Retired from Alco Steel in 1988 following 42 years of service. Member of the Operating Engineers Local #150. He was an avid fisherman and woodworker. Survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Irene (nee Fumagalli) Hert of Joliet; his children, Dennis (Grace) Hert of Wilmington, the late James Hert, Robert (Kerry) Hert of Joliet, and Laurie Hert of Crest Hill; three grandchildren, Jim Cowger, Danielle Hert and Jim Hert; step-grandson, Jake Tobin; one great-grandson, Mason Cowger; one brother, Richard (Bea) Hert of Braidwood; his half-brother, Tom (Diane) Carr of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service for Paul E. Hert will be held on Monday, January 5, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Inurnment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
