Obituary of Darlene M. Freiberger
Age 71, of Manhattan, IL passed from this life Thursday afternoon, March 23, 2023. She was born December 20, 1951to the late Margaret (Paucek) and John Fodor in Chicago, IL where she was raised and educated.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Schmit, Sherri Schmit, Christie Rincker, sons, Ed Williams and David Freiberger, grandchildren, Brittany Schmit, Travis Sequin, Chloe Williams, Colton and Luke Rincker and Alyssa Porter and great-grandchildren Wesley and Charlotte Kooy.
She was born with spina bifida so was plagued with back pain most of her life. But it didn’t stop her from living life! Dolly was a fun, loving person. She loved to dance and listen to music. She raised and rode horses. She was an avid dog trainer and loved German Shepherds and Border Collies. She competed with the horses and dog agility with her daughters. She loved watching her sons and grandson practice and race motocross.
She taught her children how to be strong and non-judgmental. She pushed them to be independent, to follow their dreams and was always there when needed.
She loved Pepsi and cigarettes! She died with a Pepsi in her hand saying “I am OK”.
As it was Darlene’s wish, cremation rites have been accorded.
