Lillian R. Kezerle

Lillian R. (nee Shields) Kezerle, age 96, of Crest Hill, IL, passed peacefully at her home, on Sunday March 26, 2023. 

Born February 9, 1927 in Joliet, she was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (McGuckin) Shields, and was a graduate of Providence High School.  She married the love of her life, Raymond Kezerle and they enjoyed over 60 years of marriage until his passing January 31, 2011.  Her parents; one sister, Kathleen (Steve) Popovich; and two brothers, Jack (Earleen) Shields and Raymond (Corine) Shields also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her two sons, David Kezerle and Daniel (Patty) Kezerle; her grandchildren, Collin (Lori) Kezerle, and Katie and Andrew Kezerle; two great-grandchildren, Victoria and Michael; and several nieces and nephews.

Lillian was a devoted and active member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Crest Hill, where she served as a reader and sang in the choir.  She also enjoyed swimming at Chaney Pool where she had many friends.  She will be remembered for her kindness, willingness to help anyone and everyone, and her delicious cakes.

Visitation for Lillian Kezerle will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet.  Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, to St. Anne Catholic Church, Crest Hill, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.  Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
