Obituary of Carol Ann Sladek

Carol Ann Sladek, age 59, passed away after a courageous battle against cancer at the Lightways Hospice Home with her family by her side. Carol was born on September 7, 1963 in New Brunswick, NJ, and moved to the Joliet area in 1996. She attended Indiana State and Benedictine University. Carol was always very passionate about providing holistic care to others and worked most recently at the Fruitful Yield in Joliet. On February 13, 2013, she married Robert Sladek in Honolulu, HI, and the two most recently celebrated their 10 year anniversary. Carol was an animal lover and activist. She was the proud adoptive parent of two rescue dogs. Most importantly she was a devoted mother to her son Adam.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, Robert L. Sladek; her beloved son and best friend, Adam Borowski; her mother, Faye Carter; her father, Frank Carter; sister Cindy Bandukwala; nieces Amber (Joe) Saplis, and Brooke and Kayla Bandukwala; sisters-in-law Mary L. (Bob) Carrol and Susan Sladek; and her faithful companions, Puddles and Griffey.

All friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of Carol’s life to be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Clublands of Joliet, 1901 Clublands Parkway, Plainfield.
