Henry Kiertscher, II

Obituary of Henry M. Kiertscher, II

Henry M. Kiertscher, age 73, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Born in Chicago to the late Henry and Patricia Kiertscher, he was a longtime Downers Grove resident. Henry earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Illinois University, and then went on to work for nearly 40 years at Flexco in Downers Grove. There he made many good friends and most importantly met his beloved wife Linda. The two were married on October 28, 2015 in Joliet and settled in Shorewood after their retirement. In his free time, he was an avid model train enthusiast. And lover of classic 1960s rock. Henry was a good friend to all he met, and his last loving act was being an organ and tissue donor. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to meet him.

Henry is also survived by his sisters, Susan (Ed) Pasternik and Sylvia Kiertscher; his brother Don (Agnes) Kiertscher; numerous nieces and nephews; many dear friends from the Del Webb community and former co-workers from Flexco; and his pet cat Macy.

All friends and relatives are invited to join in a celebration of Henry’s life to be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and concluding with services at 11:00 a.m. As it was Henry’s wish, cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment to take place at Clarendon Hills Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials in Henry’s name to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
