Obituary of Joseph A. Feehan

Joseph A. Feehan

Joe Feehan passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 14, 2023, just one day shy of his 95th birthday.  Joe was a lifelong resident of Joliet, leaving just long enough to attend the University of Colorado on a golf scholarship. His love for the game of golf, the Chicago Cubs, fine cigars (and, better yet, FREE cigars), and Civil War history was surpassed only by his love for his wife, his children and his grandkids. His interest and involvement in our lives will be sorely missed.

Devoted husband of 67 years to Marilyn (nee Vogrin) Feehan; loving dad to Sally (Joe) Mordente, Joe Feehan, Gary Feehan, Paul (Donna) Feehan, Pat (Patty) Feehan, and Mike Feehan; cherished grandfather of Stephanie, Sam, Shea, Sarah (Aaron Schleisman), Ben, Mitch, Maddy, Olivia, Grace, Lilly and Jack Feehan and Gabriel Mordente; dear brother-in-law to Bob (late Rosemary) Stephen, Yvonne (late Dave) Callans, Joe (late Joyce) Vogrin, and Barbara (late Bob.) Haggerty; fond uncle to numerous, nieces, and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Feehan; sister-in-law, Beverly; and his sister, Patsy.

Joe's family wants to acknowledge the debt of gratitude they owe to Lightways Hospice Care, and especially to Pat Flores and Karen Lee who cared for him with such gentleness and humor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to MorningStar Mission, 350 E. Washington Street, Joliet, IL, 60433.

A Mass will be held in memory of and in gratitude for both Joe and Marilyn on Wednesday, June 28th, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary Nativity, 706 N. Broadway St., Joliet, IL, 60435.
