Obituary of Joyce Hilburger

Joyce M. Hilburger (nee Grzeskowiak, Gresko) Age 69, of Plainfield since 1978, and formerly of Cicero, passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 20, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born June 26, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Elenore (nee Zaborniak) Grzeskowiak. She was a graduate of Morton East High School and DePaul University. Joyce taught physical education and health at Morton East High School and was a substitute teacher for Plainfield School District #202 for 16 years. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5573 Ladies Auxiliary where she enjoyed working the fish frys, blood drive and children's parties. She was also a member of St. Mary Immaculate Church, its Senior group and C.C.W. Joyce loved to polka dance, play bunco, and take bus trips. She was also an avid bowler, which she did for some 55 years. Beloved mother of Michael Hilburger, Susan (Dan) Millette and Brian (Marlene) Hilburger; and loving grandma of Kyle and Claire Hilburger and Ashley Millette. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded by her husband, Joseph Hilburger (2009) and her twin sister, June Mitchell. Funeral services for Joyce Hilburger will be Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Plainfield, for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery.
