Obituary of Buz Hodges

Age 79, of Shorewood, IL passed from this life Friday morning, May 26, 2023 at the Lightways Hospice Home of Joliet.

Buz was born in Providence, Rhode Island and was raised in the Evanston, Illinois area.

He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and a retired law enforcement officer after serving several agencies and eventually retiring from the Maple Park Police Department.

He is the loving husband of 25 years to Evelyn Hodges; loving father of Jaslyn (Jorge) Solorzano, Samuel (Cheyla) Gonzalez and Felix Gonzalez; proud grandfather of Olivia(USAF), Aiden, Diego, Nicolas, Vivianna and Samuel Jr. He is also survived by many dear friends.

Visitation for Clarence “Buz” Hodges will be Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until a prayer service at 11:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet.  Interment will follow with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to Lightways Hospice of Joliet.
