Obituary of Florence M. Seeley
Florence M. Seeley (nee Rutkowski) left this world to meet her Lord in Heaven on Monday, May 29, 2023, surrounded by family at her home. She was married for 64 years to the love of her life, her forever dance partner, Gerald “Jerry” Seeley.
Flo and Jerry met while working together at the Gerlach Barklow Company and married in 1957. Flo was a volunteer for many years at Cantigny Post #367, working the Friday Night Fish Fry and other events.
She is survived by her son, Jerry "Mr Hockey" Seeley, daughters, Catherine (Ron) Molo and Jody Luzbetak; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Beth) Seeley, Kevin Seeley, Nick (fiance Adriana) Molo, Matt Molo, Emily Molo, Sofia (Kyle) Luzbetak-Hurley, Grace Luzbetak and great grandson Jett Seeley. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Bernardine Rutkowski and several nieces and nephews.
Florence was preceded in death by her devoted husband Jerry, her parents Sophie and John Rutkowski, brothers Joseph, Chester (Bernardine) Rutkowski and Edward (Marilyn) Rutkowski.
A special thanks to her caregivers Evelyn, Venetia, Louise, and Karen who treated mom as one of their own. As well as, Dr. R.W. Schubert and hospice staff members Chrissy, Erris, and Alicia. We are forever grateful for their kindness and compassion.
Funeral services for Flo Seeley will be Friday, June 2, 2023 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 901 Elizabeth St. Joliet where all friends and relatives can gather from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Lightways Hospice would be appreciated.
