Obituary of Stanley Ray Buchanan

Stanley Ray Buchanan, a dedicated husband, father of four, and friend to many - passed away, surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at the age of 64, in Joliet, IL. 

Stanley is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Buchanan; his children, Stephanie Buchanan, Lindsey (Eric) Lewis, Ryan Buchanan, and Katelyn Buchanan; and two grandsons, Landon and Mason Lewis. Stanley is also survived by his sisters Barbara (Steve) Barbaro, Jean Buchanan, Wanda (John) Sitasz, and Leigh Ann (Kevin) Nicholson; brothers Steve (Debra) Buchanan, Randy (Christina) Buckner, and Bart (Rhonda) Buchanan; and a large extended family of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and in laws. 

Stanley was born November 22, 1958 to the late Hollis and Nina Buchanan. He attended Marquette Manor Baptist Academy where he graduated with honors and later worked for Siemens Medical Solutions for 35 years. On June 25, 1982, Stanley married Kathleen Cassin. They recently celebrated 40 years of marriage. 

Stanley was a quiet and devoted family man who enjoyed gardening and drinking sweet tea. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and wonderful sense of humor. Stanley will be missed dearly. 

Per Stanley's wish, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Stanley's memory.
