Sandra Petrovic, of Plainfield, passed away at the age of 62, on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet.  Sandra was born in Joliet, IL, on March 9, 1961, the daughter of Frank and Shirley (nee Nagel) Dymek. She grew up in Lockport and attended Lockport Central High School.  

Sandra had a kind soul and loving nature about her. She enjoyed holding conversations with all who crossed her path.  In her free time, Sandra enjoyed being outside planting her flowers and trees or relaxing near a body of water with a fishing pole in her hands.  Sandra had a love for music and a talent for being able to play any instrument by ear. She will be missed by all who loved her.

Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Greg Petrovic; one son, Adam (Betsy) Petrovic; two grandchildren, Andrew and Lucy Petrovic; her mother, Shirley Dymek; sister, Linda Ammons; nieces and nephews, Kelly (Pablo Bellorin) Ammons, Kasey (Lauren) Ammons, and Kaul (Megan Pinfold) Ammons; great-nephew, Emilio Bellorin; and her uncle Bob and aunt Virginia Lewis.  Numerous cousins also survive.

She is preceded by her father, Frank Dymek; and her brother, David Dymek.

A Memorial Gathering for Sandra Petrovic will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 12:00 noon until the time of Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431, would be appreciated.
