Margaret Kritikos

Obituary of Margaret Hope Kritikos

Margaret Hope Kritikos

Margaret Hope Kritikos, age 86, was shepherded by the good Lord on June 2nd, 2023 to return to her dear husband’s side in heaven.  Her final moments on this Earth were peaceful as she was comforted by the presence of her loving daughters Marcella and Dana. She drew strength and solace in knowing that she had been able to visit with all of her children during the week before her passing.

Margaret concluded a more than twenty year battle with Parkinson’s, which she faced with grace and dignity.  She refused to allow her disease to define her, and the strength she displayed by always being able to see the bright side of any challenge amazed all who knew her.

She leaves behind a great legacy, having raised six children; Steve, Mary, Tia, Pete, Al and Marcella, who in turn provided her with fourteen grandchildren nine great grandchildren with a tenth on the way.

Margaret loved her husband with all of her heart until his passing in 2020, and continued to do so by visiting his grave on a weekly basis. She loved her visits and chats with her sister-in-law Chris, as well as Rina & family, Joyce (Dana’s mom), Judy and her neighbor Moe. She always said how grateful she was for such an amazing life filled with everything she could ever want or need.

It has been said that the depth of a person’s sorrow in grief is a direct indication of the depth of a person’s love in life. Margaret’s family will now need to contend with an enormous void in their lives.  She was our role model and most significant influence.  We will forever miss her beautiful blue eyes and soft gentle hands, our morning cups of coffee while saying positive affirmations, and giving her a kiss on the forehead every night after saying our prayers.

She was kind to everyone she met and always left them with great words of wisdom. Margaret was an extremely authentic and simple person. She loved conversations and audio books on long rides in the car, boat and golf cart. She found beauty in nature, enjoyed playing games and working on puzzles. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she loved that Dana would put up all the decorations November 1st so she could enjoy them longer. Words cannot express how grateful we are to Dana for all the help and sacrifices she has made for our parents over the years. She always went above and beyond to help with whatever needed to be done.

The Kritikos family would like to thank Sherrie (Margaret’s nurse) who spent so much quality time with her when family was working. She loved Margaret and Margaret loved her.  We’d also like to thank the entire GenuWin staff and clients for all the love and support you have all shown our mom over the past 16 years of the business. She really enjoyed meeting and chatting with so many of you.

Her integrity, thoughtfulness and kindness were central to the way she lived her life. Her beautiful smile, gentle touch and inspirational words will forever be etched in our memory.

May you rest in peace Mom. Know that we loved you with all we had and know that we were the lucky ones to have you by our side every day of our lives.
