Obituary of Mary Ann Hasse

Mary Ann Hasse, age 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at StoryPoint Romeoville Memory Care.

 A native of Joliet, Illinois, Mary Ann was one of nine children born to the late Robert and Marie (nee Grill) Hasse on June 10, 1933.  She was a graduate of St. Francis Academy class of 1951, and then continued her education at College of St. Francis earning a degree in education. Mary Ann retired from Lemont High School where she taught math for most of her career.

She is survived by her brothers, Jack (Debra) and William;  sister-in- law Lilly Mulligan; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her sisters, Rita Blackburn, Sr. Maria Hasse, OSF (Janet), and Sr. Bernadine Hasse, OSF; brothers, Robert, Richard, and Rev. James Hasse, S.J.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington), Joliet, IL. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lightways Hospice.
