Obituary of Allyson C. Pierson

Allyson C. Pierson, of Coal City, passed away unexpectedly, on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at the age of 49. Ally was born in Smithtown, NY, on November 3, 1973, the daughter of Rose (nee Antonino) and the late Albert Georgio. She grew up in Naperville and was a graduate of Naperville Central High School, with the Class of 1991. Ally went on to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois in Champaign Urbana and then her Master’s Degree from Lewis University. She was currently an LCPC with Gateway Foundation.

Ally enjoyed live music, attending concerts with her friends, kayaking, cooking, and watching the Chicago Cubs. Her family was the center of her world. She often spent time visiting with her mother and was very active in the lives of her two children. She loved her fur babies, and enjoyed laughing and cheering people up. She was always there to comfort anyone who needed it, and always found the beauty in life. She loved art and often found time to do journaling.

Ally is survived by her two children, Karli and Brady Pierson; her mother, Rose Georgio; sister, Andrea (Joe) Coscino; significant other, Mark Zickefoose; nieces and nephews, Kaylie, Michael, Steven, Alyssa, and Daniel Coscino; her Aunt MaryAnn Antonino; and her fur babies, Biscuit, Marshmellow and Willow.

She is preceded by her father, Albert Georgio; grandparents, Tony and Millie Antonino, Albert and Rosalie Georgio; her Uncle Carlo Antonino; and her canine companion, Sam.

Visitation for Allyson C. Pierson will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. As it was her request, cremation rites will be accorded following services.
