Obituary of Denise A. Neal-Webb

Denise A. Neal-Webb, age 71, of Joliet, IL, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at her home.  She was born July 30, 1951, in Chicago, IL to the late Marshall and Dolores (nee Daly) Benney.

Denise grew up in Chicago. She attended St. Clotilde Grade School and graduated from Unity Catholic High School.  Denise then earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University and her Master’s Degree from Illinois State University.  She taught for many years at Edna Keith Elementary School and Carl Sandburg Elementary in Joliet, retiring in 2007.

Denise was a veracious reader.  She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.  She also loved spending time with her family and attending craft fairs with friends.

Survived by her husband of 28 years, James Webb; her son, Marshall (Lacy) Neal of Portland, OR; former spouse and father of Marshall, Ira L. Neal; goddaughter, Joy (Katie) Loftis; stepchildren,  Selena (Jermaine) Ebo, James (LaShawn) Webb, Jr, Edward (Yolanda) Webb, LaToya Webb; grandchildren Dolores, Taylor, Ariana, Quentin, and Myles Neal, Madison Loftis, Jermaine “LJ” and Sienna Ebo; sisters and brothers, Ardith Neal, Denise (Marzell) Richardson, Bernitha Neal, Ablin (Cheryl) Neal, Reginald Neal, Kathy Neal, and Wallace (Rosalind) Neal.  Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive.

Visitation for Denise Neal-Webb will be Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 337 Ottawa St., Joliet, IL. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet, IL.
