Rodney Warner Kuehni
Rodney Warner Kuehni, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, at the age of 81, on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, with his loving family by his side. Rodney was born in Stanley, WI, on July 26, 1941, the son of the late Warner and Jennie (nee Thoreson) Kuehni. He grew up in Cadott, WI and was a graduate of Cadott High School. Rodney retired from Caterpillar after 49 dedicated years as a Machinist.
Rodney was a loyal family man. He always made sure those he loved had everything that they needed. In his free time, Rodney enjoyed spending time outdoors, hiking, gardening, or on his boat with a fishing rod in his hand. He loved spending time with his family more than anything. Rodney will leave a void in the hearts of all who loved him.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Darlene Marie (nee Backhaus) Kuehni; his four sons, Kurt (Diana) Kuehni, Bryan (Jody) Kuehni, Ken (Sheila) Kuehni, and Russ (Jennifer) Kuehni; grandchildren, Kurt Jr., Alex (Lexi), Michaela, Chris, Kellie, Lauren, Mike (Amanda), Trevor (Kristie), Kyle (Jenna), Mike, Jake, Alyssa, and Mike; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, George, Chase, Aiden, William, Russ and Lucas; and his siblings, Ruthie (the late Ronald) Ramseier, Karen (Ken) Habedank, Clarence (Eileen) Kuehni, Jon (Ruthie) Kuehni and David (Carla) Kuehni. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
He is preceded by his parents; his brother, Jerry Kuehni; and his two sisters, Janet Bourget and Linda Niemuth.
Funeral Services for Rodney Warner Kuehni will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL. Graveside service will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
