Obituary of Richard L. Johnson

Richard L. Johnson, age 59, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at home.

Born August 15, 1963 in Joliet, he was the son of the late Richard Lyle and Arlene Johnson.

Rich was a well-known local businessman for nearly 40 years and was the owner and operator of Auto Medics in Joliet, and the former Auto Clinic.

He is survived by his wife, Susan D. Johnson, of Wilmington; his son, Brian (Amber) Tezak of Joliet; his grandchildren, Landon Johnson, Dilan Tezak and Mackenzie Tezak; one brother, Michael Zivic; three sisters, Linda Lambdin, Cheri Waznis and Kimberly Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Gathering for Rich Johnson will be held Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet.  Cremation rites have been accorded and interment will be private.
