Obituary of Dortheta M. Williams

Dortheta Mae Williams, age 91, late of Geneva and formerly of Bonita Springs, Florida and Plainfield, IL., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 9th in Elgin, IL.

Born November 8, 1931, in Anna, IL., she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Juanita (Wright) Wiggs. She married the love of her life, Clifford Ray Williams, and they enjoyed over 70 years of marriage until his passing on October 26, 2019.

Dortheta, also known as Dorothy or Dot, was a wonderful homemaker and really enjoyed baking and cooking for family and friends. She will be best remembered for her famous Meatloaf dinner, Cube Steak, Fried Chicken, Baked Beans, and Biscuits and Gravy, along with her wonderful sweet tea and homemade desserts. Her family will always cherish the big family gatherings and holidays that she hosted with love and a lot of good food. She loved the Lord and loved to read the Bible, especially Psalms 91 and 92. She was a member of Three Rivers Church in Plainfield and a former member of Yorkfield Presbyterian Church in Elmhurst.

She is survived by three loving daughters, Deanna Sue (Edward) Vesely of Geneva, Deborah (the late Thomas) Killeen of Scottsdale, AZ., and Pamela (Thomas) Bronkema of South Elgin; five adoring grandchildren, Michael Mikoola, Michelle (Allan) Jeziorski, Jaime (Anthony) Spinato, Kyle (Anna) Christensen, and Jessica Mae Coffey; and six dear great-grandchildren, Sophia and Olivia Mikoola, Ava and Ella Spinato, Jack and Charlotte Mae Christensen. She is also survived by her sister, Elaine (the late Rob Roy) Ellett, of Murphysboro, IL., and brother, Donnie Wiggs, of Murphysboro, IL.

A Memorial Service for Dortheta Mae Williams will be held in October and she will be laid to rest at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery alongside her husband, Clifford R. Williams.
