Obituary of Margaret Hogan

Hogan, Margaret D. (nee Combs) Age 78, of Joliet and formerly Marseilles, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, April 26, 2012, after a courageous battle against cancer. Born December 25, 1933 in Kentucky to the late Cora (Bland) and Arthur "Red" Combs, she was raised in Marseilles, IL and resided there until she and her family moved to the Plainfield/Joliet area in 1969. Survived by two sons, Mike (Cindy) Hogan of Joliet and David Hogan of Colorado Springs, CO; one daughter, Melinda (Gene) Hook of Sheridan, IL; six grandchildren, Eric and Taylor Hogan, Katelyn and Eryn Hogan, Adam Pitts and Emily Hook. Also survived by one brother, Charles (Janet) Combs; one sister, Janene (John) Tuttle; a niece and several nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, James Hogan (2003); and her parents. Margaret attended Marseilles High School and Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee. A retired office manager, serving the healthcare industry, she was also a member of Crystal Lawns Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed flowers, reading and spending time with her family. Funeral Services for Margaret D. Hogan will be held Monday, April 30 , 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David Becker officiating. Interment Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the Jimmy V. Foundation for Cancer Research would be appreciated. Visitation Sunday, 2-6 p.m. at: FRED C.
