John Henry

Obituary of John W. Henry

John W. Henry, age 53 of Joliet, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023. He was born May 15, 1970, in Angola, Indiana.

John was a dedicated Union Pipefitter for Local 597, working at the Citgo Oil Refinery, where he loved his work crew.  He was always busy fixing things, and his beloved granddaughter said he could fix anything. John was known by many as the one of the best bag players, often taking people’s money with all his victories. Family was the center of Johns’ world; his best pal was his granddaughter, and he was so excited that a new grandchild was on the way. John loved fishing, family vacations, especially to Mexico, and had a great love for his friends & riding his Harley.

He is survived by his loving wife Christine; his daughters Kailey Henry (Dane Toepper) , and Kassidy Henry (Jake Sanders); granddaughter Charlotte Henry; his siblings, cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his buddy, Andy; his parents; and his brother.

Because of John’s kindness, several lives will be enhanced with his donation through the Gift of Hope.
