Obituary of Shellie Lyn Arthaud

Shellie Lyn Arthaud

Shellie Lyn Arthaud, 43, of Joliet, IL, passed from this life, unexpectedly, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. She was born May 16, 1980 in Joliet, IL.

Shellie attended Minooka schools. She continued her education and was a graduate of the University of Phoenix. In 1998, she joined the Army National Guard and proudly served until 2006.  In 2022, Shellie became the first female member of the Plainfield American Legion Marne Post 13.

Employed by the Morris Hospital, Shellie was a valued member of the Health Information Management team since 2009. She will be greatly missed by her Morris Hospital family.

Shellie was known as one-of-a-kind, a generous and caring free spirit, down to earth, kindhearted, and charismatic. She would light up the room with her beautiful smile. She lived life to the fullest and loved her family and friends with a ferocity that could not be matched.  A powerhouse paired with fierce determination; she would accomplish anything she put her mind to.

She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, spending time in the garage, hot rods, classic cars and motorcycles, spending time with family, entertaining, doing puzzles, visiting Culver, IN, and watching movies. Most importantly she was proud of her kids, her family & friends, and having served her country.

Shellie is the loving daughter of Vickie Domanus and the late Michael Arthaud. She is the beloved mother of Isabelle Moreno and Brianna Moreno; step-mother of Cera Caliendo, Nickolas Moreno, Emyle Moreno, and Kaite Moreno. Shellie is also survived by her maternal grandparents, Mary Domanus and James Domanus; aunts, Susan (Thomas) Wiley, Carrie (Ed) Lonecke, Kelly Harvey, and Elizabeth Black;  paternal aunt, Sandy Arthaud; and uncle, Chuck Arthaud. Many cousins and dear friends also survive.

She is also survived by her caring significant other, Will Raczak; and her dogs, Pumpkin and Tracy Victoria and cat Nacho.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Robert and Phyllis Arthaud; and uncle, James Arthaud.
