Obituary of Sarah Lynn Pelton
Sarah Lynn Pelton, age 48, of Gilman, IL, and formerly Joliet, IL, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka, IL. Sarah was born in Joliet on January 12, 1975, the daughter of Michael and Joanne (nee Whitmer) Pelton. She was a graduate of Joliet Central High School.
Sarah was always a caring and passionate person and would express that by offering motherly guidance to anyone who needed a place to stay, a warm meal, or a sympathetic shoulder to lean on. She also enjoyed singing, cutting her friends and family's hair, and was a collector of anything Marilyn Monroe. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family.
Sarah is survived by her beloved children, Felicity Pelton of Kankakee, IL, Kenrick Ali and Kylee Ali both of Gilman, IL; siblings, Roseanne Odam of Diamond, IL, Gary Pelton of Joliet, IL and Vincent Pelton of Gilman, IL. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Keith.
A Memorial Gathering for Sarah Lynn Pelton will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Elmhurst Cemetery. As it was Sarah’s wish, cremation rites have been accorded.
