Obituary of Gloria Jean Sarter

Gloria Jean Sarter (nee Hucksold)

Gloria Jean Sarter, passed away peacefully at the age of 73, on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at her home in Shorewood. Gloria was born on January 2, 1950, the daughter of Henry and Marjorie (nee Rinkach) Hucksold.  Born and raised in Chicago, she was a graduate of Thornton High School.

Gloria enjoyed all things pretty.  She loved her jewelry, was always excited to go shopping for new shoes, and often found herself lost in a new book.  Her favorite place to be, besides with her family, was out in her garden.  She was devoted to her family and will leave a void in the hearts of all who loved her.

Gloria is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, William J. Sarter; her children, Steven (Tanya) Sarter and Robin (Brian) Sitar; grandchildren, Taylor Sitar, Phoenix Sarter, Grace Sitar, and Brandon, Julian, Mya, and Jacob Bush; one great-grandson, Declan Bush; one brother, Richard (Madeline) Hucksold; sister-in-law, Linda Perryman; and a niece, Stephanie Granato.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A Memorial Gathering for Gloria Jean Sarter will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL. As it was her request, cremation rites have been accorded.
