Eric A. Van Cleave
Age 58, of Morris, IL, and formerly Minooka, IL passed from this life Saturday morning October 14, 2023, at Arcadia Care of Morris.
Eric was born on April 5, 1965, to the late Virginia and William Van Cleave. He was raised and educated in Minooka, a graduate of Minooka Community High School with the class of 1983.
He is the beloved father of Britany (Zacharia) Jett and Joseph Van Cleave; proud and devoted grandfather of Eric, James and Coulter; dear brother of William Floyd (Sandy) Van Cleave, Joseph Mark (the late Diane) Van Cleave, Debra Lynn (Matthew) Strainis, John Arthur (Mary Beth) Van Cleave, the late Ruth Ann (the late Robert) Springer, the late Karen (Randall) Littleton and Amy Jo (Toby) Umland. Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
Eric, a retired electrician and over 30 years member of IBEW Local 176, will be remembered for a strong work ethic and an even stronger bond with family. He loved his role as "Grandpa" and cherished every moment spent with "the boys".
He also enjoyed the outdoors, working on cars, listening to classic rock, watching old westerns, TV classics, rawhide, and gunsmoke, as well as any of the Rocky movies.
Eric's family will always remember the wonderful care and kindness the staff at Arcadia Care bestowed upon him.
A celebration of Eric's life will be held in a private setting by his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Eric's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
