Obituary of Marie J. Grady

Marie J. Grady, of Chicago Heights, IL, passed away peacefully at the age of 83, on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at The Parc in Joliet.  Marie was born in Chicago, IL on April 23, 1940, the daughter of the late John and Marie (nee Buric) Reeser and was a graduate of Lindblom High School.  Marie had a long rewarding career in the insurance industry before retiring after 40 years as a Broker at Rockwood Company.  She loved spending her free time finding hidden treasures at garage sales and estate sales.  She also enjoyed testing her luck at the casinos.  Her family will always cherish the numerous sweaters and items that she crafted for them.

Marie is survived by her two sisters, Jackie (the late Bob) Ryan and Gerri Splitt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded by her parents; and one sister, “Jo” (the late Al) Hayes.

Visitation for Marie J. Grady will be held Monday, October 30, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Chapel Service at 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL.  Interment will be held privately at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
