Robert Rinehart

Obituary of Robert A. Rinehart

Robert A. “Bob” Rinehart, age 58, of Joliet, passed away suddenly on October 26, 2023.

Born December 21, 1964 in Oak Park, IL, he was the son of the late Everett and Nancy (Simosky) Rinehart, and was a graduate of Morton East High School, Class of 1983.

Bob was a valued and dedicated employee of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in Geneva, where he was a facilities manager for over 27 years.

A loving husband, a wonderful dad, and an adored papa to his grandchildren; he never missed any of his “baby girls’” and Damon’s activities.  He instilled in his sons the virtue of helping others without expecting anything in return.  He was always the first to drop everything to help anyone in need.

Time spent at Woodsmoke Ranch in Seneca was considered time well spent and he cherished the family time and friendships cultivated there.  He was smart and accomplished, and when he didn’t know how to do something, he wasted no time figuring out how to.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Terri (Sutton) Rinehart; his son and daughter-in-law, Drew and Felicia Rinehart and their children- Damon, Aubrey, Olyvia, and Raelynn; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Megan Rinehart; and son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Cori Rinehart.  He is also survived by two brothers, Jim (Dawn) Rinehart and Michael (Nancy) Rinehart; a sister, Ann (Stephen) Young; sisters-in-law, Lori (Roger) Fowler and April (Mark) Roebke; and nieces and nephews, Zach, Samantha, Samuel, Ronnie, Jessica, Nick, Willie, Benny, Jackson, Eli, Asher, Patrick, Thomas, Michael, Lisa and Christopher.

Services for Bob Rinehart were held privately. Fred C. Dames Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
