Jean M. Hostetler

Jean Marie Hostetler, age 78, of Oswego, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 4, 2023.

Born May 30, 1945, in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie (Paschke) Chyllo.  She married the love of her life, John Robert Hostetler, and he preceded her in death August 14, 2013.  A granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Hostetler, and two brothers, Thomas and Kenneth Chyllo, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Dawn Hostetler of Oswego; two adoring granddaughters, Cassidy Marie Hostetler and Amanda (Josh) Smith; three precious great-grandchildren, Hailey Melissa, Riley Anabelle, and Ethan Joshua; her dear brother, John (Debbie) Chyllo; and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She enjoyed the 21 years she worked for Walmart where she made many friends over the years.  She will be remembered for her pleasant personality and her love for working crossword puzzles.

Visitation for Jean Hostetler will be held Monday, November 13, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet.  Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.  Family and friends are welcome to meet at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m., to process together to the cemetery.
