Obituary of Nancy C. McCauley
Nancy C. McCauley passed peacefully from this world into the loving arms of the Lord at her home in Elwood, on Tuesday, December 12, at the age of 77. She was born on May 23, 1946 to the late William and Bernice (Leosco) Brozovich in Joliet, Illinois. Nancy was a graduate of St. Francis Academy High School. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital for over 33 years in the Labor and Delivery unit, where she joyfully greeted newborns as they entered this world.
Nancy was a dedicated and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and godmother. She was the beloved wife of 56 years to Lawrence (“Larry”) McCauley, who together raised their children, Patrick McCauley (2012) and Michael McCauley, and enjoyed everything life has to offer. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, and spending time with her family and friends. Nancy was a people-person in every sense—she took a genuine and caring interest in people, was always quick to compliment or encourage, and as a result, made friends with ease.
She is survived by her loving husband Larry; son, Michael (Amy) McCauley, and grandchildren Brett, William, and Brooke McCauley. Also surviving are brother-in-law, William McCauley; sisters-in-law, Judy McCauley and Janice Brozovich; nephews, Bill and David Brozovich; nieces, Kelly Olsen, Katie Wereski, and Rhonda Brozovich, her loving niece by marriage; and many cherished cousins and friends.
In addition to her son Patrick and parents, Nancy is also preceded in death by her brother, William Brozovich; sister-in-law, Pam McCauley; brother-in-law, David McCauley, and her best friend for over 40 years, Norma Tharp.
