Obituary of Martin J. Lepacek, Jr.
Age 79, passed peacefully from this life, Friday morning, November 17, 2023, at the Lightways Hospice Home of Joliet.
He was born June 20, 1944, to the late Margaret (Pavelek) and Martin J Lepacek, Sr. in Joliet, IL, where he was raised and educated, a graduate with the class of 1962 from Joliet Catholic High School. Marty continued his education at Lewis College where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Martin is the beloved husband of 45 years to Kathleen (nee Ryan) Lepacek; loving father of Kevin (Victoria) Lepacek and Keith (Joanna) Lepacek; dearest grandfather of Jonathan and Claire. He is also survived by his devoted sister Patricia Lepacek; sister-in-law, Nancy (the late Marty) Koerner; his aunt, Mary Lepacik; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including special friends Rodney and Theresa Kauer.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joanne Lepacek.
He was a retired accountant having served Adler Roofing for over 20 years and previously Anheuser Busch for several years.
Marty was a faithful member of St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church and a proud Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus St. Ann Council #12863 and Joliet Assembly #0204 since 2014.
He will be remembered as a loyal fan of the Chicago White Sox, Notre Dame and Catholic High Football. He enjoyed fishing and music, however, his true passion was being a dedicated family man and a proud “Papa”.
Visitation for Martin Lepacek, Jr. will be held Monday, November 20, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet, IL. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 21, 2023, 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church, 706 N. Broadway St., Joliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery in Joliet.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marty’s name to Lightways Hospice would be appreciated.
