Obituary of Grace Jule Haak

Grace Jule Haak

(nee Jines)

Grace Jule Haak, passed away peacefully at the age of 81, on November 20, 2023.  She was born in Chicago, IL, on February 28, 1942, the daughter of the late Charles and Grace (nee Breeze) Jines.

Grace grew up on Chicago’s South side and graduated from Harper High School. She remained very close to many of her high school friends. For many years, she worked as a teller, starting at First National Bank in downtown Chicago and finally at the Founders Bank branch in Worth before retiring. She was the rectory cook for the priests of Sacred Heart Church in Palos Hills for many years and remained involved in the Saint Anne Church community of Channahon after moving there. She loved animals, especially horses. She was an avid traveler and was always planning the family’s next vacation. She loved being on the road. Grace maintained a beautiful flower garden throughout her life and was a regular auction attendee with her husband as they both loved antiquing. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and went above and beyond to organize family events for them to enjoy. She will be missed terribly by all who knew her.

Grace is survived by her loving children, Eric Haak, Jessica (David) Frawley, and Sarah Fahey; her dear grandchildren, Sophia and David Frawley and Michael, Jamie, and Cooper Fahey.  Four siblings also survive.

She is preceded by her loving husband, Edward P. Haak and her parents.
