Obituary of Gisela F. Denton
Gisela F. Denton, age 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, IL. She was born February 18, 1950, in Langenbach, Germany to Cornelia M. (nee Schmidt) and the late Henry J. Farber.
Gisela immigrated to the United States when she was four years old and grew up in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Kelvyn Park High School, where she met the love of her life and husband of 40 years, Anthony L. Denton.
Gisela was a member of the Red Hat Society and had a passion for genealogy. She also loved crafts including cross stitch, crochet, beading, and most recently diamond art.
Survived by her children, Richard (Dionne) Denton, Lisa (Jesse) Harper, and Jeffrey Denton; her grandchildren, William, Robert, and Joline (Brandon Kellogg) Denton; her mother, Cornelia “Nellie” Farber; brother, Roland (Patti) Farber; nephews, Tim and Scott Farber; her fur-baby, Roxy and grand-dogs, Delilah, Hazel, and Rebel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony L. Denton and her father, Henry J. Farber.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
Visitation for Gisela F. Denton will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) in Joliet, IL. Funeral Service will be on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
