Obituary of Paul W. Werner
Paul W. Werner
Paul W. Werner, age 87, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Loyola Medical Center. Paul was born in Joliet on August 24, 1936, to the late Walter and Mary Werner and was a lifetime area resident. He served his country admirably in the United States Army. After his service, he worked for many years for Illinois Securities Insurance Agency in Joliet. Following his retirement, he has worked for D’Arcy Motors. He was also a Third Degree Knight of Columbus.
Paul was an affable person, enjoyed being “out & about”, and never met a party or social gathering he didn’t like. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Notre Dame football. He would go to University of Illinois football games with close friends and liked to go to St. Mary of the Woods convent in Terre Haute, IN to visit his aunt. Later in life, when age limited his mobility, he enjoyed coffee with lifelong friends, holidays with his extended family, and faithfully attended church. He endured many setbacks but never complained.
Paul is survived by his son, Matt Werner, and numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends. He is preceded in death by infant daughters, Frances & Lucille; daughter, Kerri Werner; son, Jason Werner; ex-wife, Sheila Werner, sister, Alice Broze; and brothers, William and Larry Werner
