Karen was a gifted crafter, creating scrap books for her grandchildren of their first year. These became a treasured gift for her children.
Some of the fondest memories for Mark, Christine, and Lori were Christmas and Birthdays. Christmas included collectible ornaments for each of them along with one of Karen’s fabulous meals and lots of gifts. Birthdays were memorable due to her custom cakes or cupcakes for each of the children to share with their classmates.
Karen’s house was always open to friends and family. She would always ensure there was plenty of food available when friends would come to visit.
One of Karen’s favorite memories was the horses she grew up with. She would often share stories of her time riding, caring for the horses, and loving on the family horses. She often would discuss her time in North Carolina at her parents’ house and spending time on the beach. Her passion for dogs was passed on to her children and grandchildren, who all are dog lovers.
Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sue Wiers, brother, John Lingrel and son Timothy Dillon.
As it was Karen's wish, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no formal services.
