Obituary of Scott Michael Birkett

Scott M. Birkett, born June 22, 1970, passed away at his home on December 14, 2023. He was raised in Joliet and was a 1988 graduate of Joliet Central High School.

Affectionately known as “Mac” or “Magruder”, Scott enjoyed family gatherings, camping with his mother and father, and trips to Florida to see his brother and spend time with his maternal grandparents at their winter home. He further enjoyed time working with family at R & R Septic & Sewer.

Scott is survived by his mother, Toni; brothers, Rick and Greg; niece, Olivia and nephew, Dameon Birkett. Many uncles, aunts, and cousins also survive.

He is preceded in death by his father and best friend, Robert; his loving maternal grandparents, John and Marjorie Ratkovich; and his paternal grandparents, Orin and Luetta Birkett.

As it was Scott’s wish, cremation rites have been accorded.
