Obituary of Angelina M. Calandro
Angelina M. Calandro, (nee Tedesco) age 100 years. Of Crest Hill, Illinois, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023.
She was born in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Filomena and Angelo Tedesco.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Constantine Calandro (2005); son, Anthony Calandro (2003); daughter, Tina Mayle (2010); grandson, Michael DeSett.
Angelina was the youngest of 8 children. Also preceding her in passing were brothers: Vito, Carmine, Ralph, and Jerry, and sisters: Teresa, Florence and Marie.
Angelina was a homemaker married to Constantine for 59 years up to his passing in 2005. She leaves behind a daughter, Rita DeSett (Michael) of Desoto, Illinois; son, Michael Calandro, Sr. (Patti) of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Claire Hartley (James) of Coal City, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Tim DeSett (Ali), Angelina Caldwell (Casey), Michael Calandro (Kristi), Andrew DeSett (Stacy), James Hartley III, Jill Banas, AJ Hartley (Sarah), Emilee Hermann (Brandon); seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren with a third great-great grand baby on the way. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive as well as her loving caregiver of nearly 5 years, Jolanta Puszkiewicz who had wonderful help from Irena, Eva, Lucy and Barb.
The family would like to thank Lightways Hospice for their excellent care of Angelina during this time.
Angelina lived for over 100 years and was witness to many happenings and changes in our country and the world during her lifetime! We were very fortunate to be able to have celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends.
Private services will be held by the family.
