Age 89. At rest Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Oregon, IL to the late Jess and Irene (Knudsen) Thomas. Resident of Joliet for over 70 years. Formerly employed by Providence Catholic High School as a secretary. Member of Cathedral of St. Raymond, Council of Catholic Women and The Seniors Club.
Survived by her seven children, Curtis (Carole) Horn of Gurnee, IL, Thomas (Geri Shoop) Horn of Joliet, Nora (Glenn) McCarthy of Victoria, TX, Joan Horn of Joliet, Michael (JoAnn Deardurff) Horn of Joliet, Daniel (Karen) Horn of Orland Park, and Capt. Raymond (Exie) Horn USMC of New Bern, NC; her former daughter-in-law, Tyna Horn of Joliet; 11 grandchildren, Christine Williams, John (Kristin) Horn, Katherine McCarthy (James) Salisbury, Christianna (Jon) Stefka, Margaret (Gabriel) Pallanez, Melissa (Daniel) Vincent, Tina Jo Horn, Caroline Horn, Catherine Horn, Dana Williams, and Viktoria (Joshua) Powell; 17 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Patrick and Owen Williams, Samantha, Jessica and Ella Horn, Anwen and Nathan Salisbury, Jackson, Madeline and Charlie Stefka, Daniel and Darin Pallanez, Jack, Emma and Max Vincent, and Michaela Williams.
Preceded by her loving husband, Curtis Horn (1999); her grandson, Curtis R. Horn (January 24, 2011); and her daughter-in-law, Judith Horn (2001).
Funeral services for Jeane Horn will be Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials in her name to Muscular Dystrophy or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Friday, 3-8 p.m. at:
