Victoriano Medina Carrillo
Victoriano Medina Carrillo, passed away peacefully at the age of 72, on Sunday, December 31, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Mexico on February 10, 1951, the son of the late Tomas and Maria DeJesus Medina. Victoriano came to Chicago at the age of 17, after having served in the Armed Forces in Mexico. He retired after 39 dedicated years with Banner Service Corporation working as and overseeing machine technicians.
Victoriano was a man dedicated to taking care of his family, which was everything to him. He was self-taught and could fix anything. When he wasn’t hard at work with projects around the house, he enjoyed collecting and fixing up cars.
He was highly respected and appreciated by his entire community and a father figure to the neighborhood youth.
Victoriano is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Blanca Estela (nee Lopez) Medina Carrillo; his children, Judith (Pedro) Lome, Mario (Irais) Carrasco, Nancy Medina, Thomas (Kimberly) Medina, Maria (Thomas) Medina Lynch, Gabriella (Daniel) Escutia, Victor (Dahlia) Medina, and Carlos Medina; grandchildren, Lisette Lome, Leslie Lome, Victor Medina, Brandon Carrasco, Caity Carrasco, Mia Guzman, Thomas Lynch, Danny Escutia, Miguel Escutia, Katie Hernandez, Sebastian Ramirez, Angel Ramirez, Christian Ramirez, Chloe Favela, Jason Medina, Nicholas Escutia, Mason Medina, Jonathan Escutia, and Victoria Medina; great-grandchildren, Makayla Muniz, Aimee Muniz, Alexander Reyes, and Aylah Reyes; God children, Zulai Rivera, Hector Hernandez, and his siblings, Irene Medina, Reynaldo Medina, Leticia (Jorge) Gonzalez, Blanca (Ezequiel) Viveros, Armando Medina and Martin Medina. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
He is preceded by his parents; and his two siblings, Evelia Rodriguez and Hector Medina.
Funeral Services for Victoriano Medina Carrillo will be held at 9:00 a.m., on Monday, January 8, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL. Interment will follow at Clarendon Hills Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Alzheimer’s Association.
