Obituary of William J. Todd

William J. “Bill” Todd, age 76, of Plainfield, IL passed away December 31, 2023 at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital, Joliet.  He was born January 11, 1947 in Joliet to the late Robert and Gertrude Todd.

Bill grew up in Joliet and graduated from Plainfield High School.  He worked as a sales manager for many businesses, but most notably for Century Tile in Bolingbrook and Oak Lawn.  He was a very active member of St. Mary Immaculate Parish in Plainfield, where he was an usher and made rosaries.  He was also a member of Knights of Columbus- Good Shepherd Council #5573. 

He enjoyed watching baseball and nascar. Bill was also known for his excellent woodworking skills and loved creating special handmade items from pens to jewelry out of exotic woods. He will be remembered for his love of fishing and enjoying the outdoors.

Bill is survived by his brother, James (Kathleen Hutton) Todd, and niece, Candace (James) Moore.

Memorial Visitation for William J. “Bill” Todd will be Friday, January 19, 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL. Friends and family will meet on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. for a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Immaculate Parish, 15629 Division St., Plainfield, IL.  Interment will be private.
