Obituary of Steven Carlson
Steve Carlson, age 49, passed away after a courageous battle with colon cancer on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Steve was born in LaGrange on November 15, 1974, and he grew up in Berwyn, graduating from Morton West High School. He enjoyed his time spent during his teen years at Silver Birch Ranch. Steve worked as truck driver, handling deliveries for Pepsi, and more recently for Breakthru Beverages. On December 15, 2018, he married Karie Ramos, and the two most recently celebrated 5 years of marriage. He was a volunteer for the Kendall County EMA. During his free time, Steve enjoyed golfing, and he had a great love for Hockey. But most importantly, he loved his family, and he will be greatly missed by all.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Karie Carlson; his children, Stephanie (Bryan) Moulton, Christopher Clarke, Jr., Aimee Carlson, and Victoria Carlson; his adopted mother, Barbara Carlson; his birth mother, Jackie Esquivel; step-father, Daniel Esquivel; his brothers, Michael (Tina) Esquivel, Mike Carlson, and Brian Carlson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and good friends. He is preceded in death by his adopted father, Ronald Carlson.
As it was his final wish, cremation rites have been accorded. All friends and relatives are invited to join together to celebrate Steve’s life with a Memorial visitation on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 2 p.m. until time of services at 6 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black (at Essington) Rd., Joliet. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Steve’s name to Kendall County Animal Control would be appreciated.
