Obituary of Edward E. Spreitzer
Edward E. Spreitzer, age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the Gardens at Park Pointe in Morris. Edward was born in Joliet on August 1, 1937, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Spreitzer. He grew up in Rockdale, and lived the majority of his life in the Joliet area, settling just recently with his wife in Morris. He worked as a Tool and Die Maker at Plainfield Stamping for over 40 years. On November 22, 1958, he married Jacqueline Warren, and the two most recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. When not providing for his family, Edward was an avid golfer and bowler, and coached youth baseball in his younger years.
Edward is survived by his wife Jacqueline Spreitzer; his children, Ken (Donna) Spreitzer, Lori (Dan) Cassidy, Keith Spreitzer, and Amy (Todd) Phillips; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; his sister, Jean Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; seven sisters; and one brother.
The family would like to express their deepest thanks to Lightways Hospice and the Gardens at Park Pointe in Morris for the exceptional care they provided their father. Memorials in Edward's name to either of these institutions would be appreciated.
Visitation for Edward Spreitzer will be Sunday, January 21, 2024, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and concluding with services at 4:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home,1206 W. U.S. Route 6, Morris. Private entombment at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet.
