Fr. Steve was one devoted and faithful Orthodox priest. I knew him since his early days as a priest in Chicago at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago. We keep in close contact while he was the priest at All Saints in Joliet, where I grew up. Fr. Steve was always available to lend an open ear to anyone who needed Christian guidance and consolation. He left an incredible legacy at All Saints Greek church in Joliet, by planning, orchestrating and obtaining sponsorship of all the new authentic Byzantine icons for the interior of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Joliet, where he served as priest for 29 years, the longest tenure of any Greek priest at that parish. God bless your soul, Fr. Steve. Thank you for all the spiritual guidance and fellowship you gave me over the years. I was stunned to hear of your passing. May your memory be eternal. You are missed everyday. See you in heaven sometime.

Dear Pearl Ann, Angie, Katie, John and the kids,
I really know how hard this is for everyone. No words can ease the pain.
Take solace in the memories you have of your husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather;
The good times as well as the trying times every family goes through.
In the quiet you will laugh, cry and question why this happened at this time.
Your faith and love will get you to the next day as a family.
Know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Fr Steve was one of our favorite priests with his wit and dry sense of humor.
That is how we will remember him as well as the loving husband, father and grandfather he was. He welcomed me into the "orthodox" family as well as my children. May his memory be eternal.

Father Bithos is probably one of the greatest guys one would ever want to meet. I think any interaction one probably would have had with him was always greeted by a smile and you exited with a smile. My heart was broken upon hearing the news. What a great guy, so personable so sweet and so adorable. It's time now for him to pass his smiles to others who passed on before him.
