Obituary of Mary T. Hunckler
Mary T. Hunckler (nee Loscheider)
Age 90, passed peacefully, Monday, January 29, 2024 at Alden Courts of Shorewood, IL. Born in Joliet, she was a lifetime resident. A graduate of St. John the Baptist Grade School and St. Francis Academy Class of 1950. Employed by First National Bank of Joliet (Harris Bank) for 46 years. Mary was an active member of the St. Jude Catholic Church, where she was involved in various ministries.
Survived by her sons, Stephen P. Hunckler of California, Mark A. (Maribeth) Hunckler of Lindenhurst, IL and James E. (Amy) Hunckler of Wilmington, IL; grandchildren, Amy and Timothy R. Hunckler; Thomas J. Hunckler; Connor and Molly Freeman; Antonette Carpio Espinosa and Andrea Carpio; two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Bobbie Hunckler. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Kathleen Loscheider and several generations of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Hunckler, Sr. and his siblings and in-laws; son, Richard Hunckler Jr., DMD; daughter-in-law, Barbara S. Hunckler; parents, Edward and Alvina (nee Stephen) Loscheider as well as her brothers, John (late Marian) Loscheider, Robert (late Eleanor) Loscheider and Joseph Loscheider.
All friends and relatives are invited to gather at the Church of St. Jude, 2212 McDonough Street, Joliet on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. until Mary's Memorial Mass is celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
As it was Mary's wish, cremation rites have been accorded and her final earthly remains will be interred at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
The Hunckler's would like to express their deep gratitude to Mary's caregivers Micki Bishop and Barbara Brainard for their excellent care and compassion, as well as Heidi, Mimi and the staff at Alden Courts who also made Mom's last days as comfortable as possible.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Catholic Church or Lightways Hospice of Joliet.
