Obituary of Rudolph Pierpont Morgan
Rudolph Pierpont Morgan
Rudolph Pierpont Morgan was called home to God on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at RML Specialty Hospital in Hinsdale. He was born in Chicago on August 18, 1939, the son of the late Theodore L. and Luemma (Tramble) Morgan. Rudolph
graduated from Wendell Phillips High School, where he excelled in track & field, and attended Tennessee State University. Rudolph was a member of the Illinois
High School Association, holding many records and acquiring a countless number of trophies in track and field, specializing in the 880 yard run as well as being the anchor of the mile relay team. Those trophies are still displayed in the trophy case at his high school.
Rudolph retired after 40 years of dedicated work as a mail handler at the United States Post Office.
In his free time, Rudolph loved sitting the garage listening to his music in its original format, whether it was reel to reel, vinyl, or 8 track. He also loved spending time with his family attending events, talking about the good old days, and watching Western and any sporting event.
Rudolph is survived by his children, Redona Elin Morgan, DeMeral Morgan, and Shamon Morgan; one nephew and two grandchildren that he raised as his own, Garlan (Sylvia) Dixon, A’bran (LaTanya) Morgan and Indra Morgan; as well as a host of additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded by his loving wife of 60 years, Sharon Elaine (nee Simmons) Morgan; son, Aaron Gregory Morgan; his parents; and his grandson, Pierre Lee Williams;
