Rev. Tom and Gayle Ostrander posted a condolence

Dear Pam, Caitlyn, and Matthew,
We were saddened to hear of Steve’s passing. What a kind, generous, faith filled man, an example of what a person can do with the time he/she is given. His family, his church, his friends knew of his caring heart and openness to help others. As his former pastor, I was truly grateful for his openness to serve and to share. His witness of love and caring was felt by the many who experienced his heart and life. His life rubbed off on all of us and we are truly grateful for all that he has given through his tangible witness of God’s love and for the way he shaped and led his family. As St. Paul says, “I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.” Death is not the victor, life is, and Steve has simply moved on to discover a Love that will never let us go. Our prayers are yours as we remember Steve, his friendship, his faithfulness, his compassion and his love for his family and his God.
We are holding you tightly in our prayers. May God’s peace comfort you today and always.
Peace,
Tom and Gayle Ostrander
