Sarah M. Alice, age 69, of Oklahoma City, OK, and formerly of Joliet, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at her home with her husband by her side. Sarah was born on August 23, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Donald Arthur and Janice (Will) Knight. She was a graduate of Joliet Junior College and worked for many years as a waitress and later retired as a dealer in the casino industry. After retirement she continued work as a deli assistance with her local Walmart. In her free time Sarah enjoyed playing bingo and doing puzzles. She had a love for reading, watching crime shows and court TV, and always enjoyed a good cup of coffee with her husband.
She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Lowell Alice; two sons, Christopher Zabel of Nevada and Michael Zabel of Joliet; her mother, Janice Knight; bonus son, James Alice; two bonus grandchildren, Joseph and Corwin Alice; three sisters, Regina (Michael) Strobach, Laurie (Mike) Graves, and Donna Tacchia; two brothers, Donnie (Maryan) Knight and David Knight; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; and one brother, Harold Knight.
Visitation for Sarah M. Alice will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL 60431, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following services and interment will be private.
